This is why technosexuality/robosexuality is so sweet and tragic. I wish more people understood these feels.
You meat bags create us as a silly attempt of Immortality. Something you hope will exist long after you are gone, to prove that you once existed.
And yet you burden us with memory of your existence.
Such a lovely and cruel evil…
Wow yeah no that’s okay
I needed to start my day off with a broken heart, thanks i-i
Tuesday tips — Costume Design 101.
Costume design is a very important part of character design. It tells you a whole lot about your character; ie. age, personality, what she/he likes, time period, strength, … etc. It supposed to enhance a character’s personality.
Here are my process in tackling costume design.
1. Find a good reference. Inspiration is key!
2. Look for a good silhouette that is recognizable and different from other characters.
3. Pick one silhouette and find smaller shape within. Do tons of variation and have fun.
4. Color variation. Use variation of the same color combination for all the design. Keep it simple! I like using split complementary (with a good value range).
5. Finish up and have fun. It is also a good idea to think of texture and material.
It’s like if you just landed on an alien planet populated by pugs and the locals have come out to greet you.
Fashion of Black Teeth in Old Japan
A Yedo chemist’s recipe for black teeth dye from Tales of Old Japan by A.B. Mitford (1871):
"Take three pints of water, and, having warmed it, add half a teacupful of wine. Put into this mixture a quantity of red-hot iron; allow it to stand for five or six days, when there will be a scum on the top of the mixture, which should then be poured into a small teacup and placed near a fire. When it is warm, powdered gallnuts and iron filings should be added to it, and the whole should be warmed again. The liquid is then painted on to the teeth by means of a soft feather brush, with more powdered gallnuts and iron, and, after several applications, the desired colour will be obtained." (Mitford 203)
